Reviews
  • Ivan Pleshakov
    Practising psychologist in private practice
My acquaintance with PPT began during my last year of university, when the problem of choosing a future career began to occur more often. I had been lucky enough to be invited by my friends to join Yulia Dremin as a student at the (that time) Moscow Centre for Positive Psychotherapy.

The basic course is the background. Over the year, we were shown how a psychologist works in the paradigm of positive psychotherapy. Moreover we were given the techiques for practising and a glimpse of some advanced ideas from the world of positive psychotherapy. But it is more than just theory or learning special techniques. It's a closer way to get in touch with yourself and people in a safe and accepting atmosphere. This is a great merit to Julia as the course tutor. She was the one who influenced the way the different stories, conflicts and modes of communication would unfold in the training process (as you understand, it is, of course, not only training, but also a bit of therapeutic).

Julia presented many great metaphors and value orientations.

The knowledge and skills acquired during the course have wide practical application. It is much easier to manage a large team by understanding the laws by which human relationships are built. In addition, the Basic Course is also an opportunity to work on yourself. Self-understanding after the course has become much easier.
  • Nadejda Malenkova
Clinical psychologist, 20 years' experience, ГКБ №20 Mосква
As a psychologist, if you have a university degree in psychology, your path to the practising counselling and non-medical psychotherapy profession has already begun. I chose positive transcultural psychotherapy by Peseshkian because: the method is modern (it includes the best of psychodynamic, humanistic and rational-behavioural approaches); it can be both long-term (psychotherapy) and short-term (counselling); the method is clear, algorithmic, but also very creative, accessible for specialists to learn and understand by the client. The Basic Course is a great opportunity to try out the PPT method in action for a year, and to find a very supportive community of like-minded people. There is a lot of practice and practice-oriented theory in and between the modules, so you are sure to emerge from the basic course with lots of techniques and a positive outlook on yourself as a specialist.
